The Ivo Andrić Endowment has since organized a number of international conferences, made grants to foreign scholars studying the writer's works and offered financial aid to cover the publication costs of books relating to Andrić.

His works include The Bridge on the Drina, Bosnian Chronicle (aka Chronicles of Travnik ), and The Woman from Sarajevo. These were written during WW2 while he was living quietly in Belgrade and published in 1945. Ivo Andrić ( Serbian Cyrillic: Иво Андрић, pronounced [ǐːʋo ǎːndritɕ]; born Ivan Andrić; 9 October 1892 – 13 March 1975) was a Yugoslav novelist, poet and short story writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961. His writings dealt mainly with life in his native Bosnia under Ottoman rule .
